In the New Year Honours List, Dr Sandra White, until recently Director Dental Public Health England is appointed OBE and Professor Iain Chapple lately Head of Dental School, Birmingham is made MBE. Awesome Oral Health CIC congratulates them both on their appointments.
Sandra White OBE
Dr White was Director of Dental Public Health England for 7 years and during her time there she influenced the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme to issue a message to all primary schools receiving their produce about the risk to dental health of snacking on dried fruit. Most recently she led on the publication of the Inequalities in Oral Health in England report.”
Professor Iain Chapple MBE
Iain Chapple was Head of the School of Dentistry at Birmingham until 2020. He is also Professor and Head of Periodontology within the School, and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry with Birmingham Community Health Trust.
Iain has published over 220 research papers in the peer reviewed scientific literature, and spent time editing highly regarded dental publications.
